It's here I put in my random thoughts of what I think of other things...

BEEF & BEER, ABSOLUTELY LIVERPOOL!

As I try to mellow my stomach and make it smaller *beating it hard as if it would help un-bloat it* after a voluptuous and wonderful dinner, I decided to make a mark here since it's been quite some time since I bug people with my nonsense.

I've just came back home from the LJMU alumni dinner and had a gathering with my friends. After 4 hours of meet and greet, the only thing I remember vividly about tonight is THE FOOD!!! I just can't help my really "aunty attitude" when I see an array of delicious food. I guess it really explain my size. Ahem. Anyway the dish that got me going ga-ga the most is the BEEF!! My God...it was one of the most delicious beef I've ever tasted. Moist and it had just the right amount of tenderness in texture. I'm the kinda girl who would basically chuck everything down when it comes to food and so I never really know how to differentiate what is delicious and what is not, but this beef, this particular one...I can tell you, IT IS DELICIOUS! The only thing that flawed (mind you, just a tiny flaw) is that the sauce is not the kind I liked, so yeah. I mean, if it were black pepper or mushroomed, I guess it would be the perfect dish. I remember I had a hard time getting the beef right when I was in Liverpool because apparently culture differences mean that we have a different understanding when it comes to 75% cooked. In Liverpool, 75% cooked means your beef will come out as rocks. My other friend had the same 'fortunate' experience with beef in Liverpool. ANYWAY!!! What I'm saying is, the BEEF TONITE ROCKED!

And then there's beer. It's really not like I am crazy over beer but I do love certain type of alcohol and sometimes I can't control myself when it comes to alcohol. Soooooooooooooo, tonight was great because I had great food and great drinks. And back to my "kiasu" nature, I did eat more than the RM 10 worth of food *huge tak malu face* that I paid. Sigh sorry. I know I shouldn't be that calculative but at times like these, it's all about the money. Anyway, the beer and beef really really remind me of what I had in Liverpool. Though I'm back in KL, just eating these food brings back memories.

Well, I'm not going to give you a play by play of the night. The highlights: My friends won a competition; we had the loudest "Yum Seng" session; took some pics; ate a lot. The conclusion is everyone looked gorgeous. Andrew wasn't there (sad haha...an ironic laugh) but I had fun. It is almost a year when we left Liverpool and I've never stopped missing that place. I'm lucky to be able to be part of that adventure because considering the background I'm from, I'd never expected that I'll be able to travel overseas, let alone Liverpool. It is an experience of a lifetime for me and I'm so happy that I've gone through that journey with this bunch of great pals I have. I guess tonight means more than just dinner in someways; it is also trying to relive something that we once had and enjoyed, though it is hardly the same feeling, it does feel good to be able to see familiar faces and just enjoy a night. I wished that all my flatmates were there though. It wouldn't be my complete Liverpool experience without them. I'll make sure they go next year!! *fingers crossed*

Alrighty then...I'm off to my next activity. Some music, finish reading my book and perhaps another movie??

Take care people.
Cheers!
Oh and a shout out to FARAH MARSHITA who's in UK now (Middlesbrough, right?). I'm so sad she can't join us tonight because she's been a huge part of my Liverpool-ian adventure! One of my favourite girls whom I'm fortunate to have met in Liverpool. She's an inspiration, even until now though she can be a bully at times ;P. Thanks for the BOOKS and the ADVICE that I truly appreciate. Good luck with Masters babe!

WRAPPING UP CNY WITH WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF 2010

CNY was super fun as usual. Though there were a few days that were total bore, but the rest of the great days made up for it. This year I managed to pay my Ipoh friends a visit but darn it, forgot to take pictures.

Then got to hang out with all my dearest family members at Lobsterman restaurant, where they serve huge lobsters. My first time eating lobsters and they are delicious though very expensive. I really have to thank my 2nd uncle for treating us to such a wonderful meal. Love the fruit punch too!! Thanks uncle!! You're uber cool!!

Yesterday, I went house visiting with my college friends and had a blast too! It's so great to relive college days although really things have no doubt changed a little. We are now all entering the life of adulthood! But they are still a noisy fun bunch.

Today as I am writing is the 9th day of CNY and it is a day where the Hokkiens celebrate a festival called "Bai Tin Kong" and boy it's super awesome from my apartment's point of view. We are surrounded by fireworks and firecrackers (though super annoying) and also I saw the lighting of red lanterns which now all floats beautifully in mid-air adorning the black skies like glittering rubies and diamonds.

Generally it has been a few great days for me but I'm bummed that I didn't really get to take any great pics to imprint my memories onto something visible. Anywayzzzzzzz, I'm done writing. Haha...time for some songs and perhaps some reading.

Chao people!!

ON THE THIRD DAY OF CNY MY TRUE LOVE GIVE TO ME ...ANGPAUS!! (BUT STILL NOT TAT RICH)

Some quick rattling before hitting the sack.
Third the of CNY and today all of us gathered at my aunt's. As usual, it was fun that everyone get together and catch up on stuff.
Tomorrow all of us cuzzies will going out for a dose of romance at the cinemas as we shall be embracing the love "Valentine's Day" have to offer...I mean the movie "Valentine's Day".
Can't wait!
After that is steamboat for dinner. It is definitely a 'great' idea to eat steamboat in this kinda weather...gets you sweating --> free sauna and you can clean your pores. Who am I kidding? Seriously, if I'm eating ALONE, I might eat half naked because the weather is so friggin' hot I just can't stop complaining about it. Then again, the weather is not just bugging me. 9 out of 10 friends' FB status are about the weather... But thank God for the invention of air-con. Helps us survive steamboat =D.

Anyway, today I'mma sleep early to re-charge my battery after one long day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have cramps tomorrow. How can one get romantic with Taylor Lautner IF I'm getting cramps?

Nite nite people...
Ps: Thanks JT, See Yeong & HH for dropping by me house today!!! Nice catching up and you guys are always welcome again to my quarter ;P

With Lotsa Love,
TammyC waiting to feast her eyes on Valentine's Day

RRR-OARRRRING INTO 2010

Just wanna wish everyone a ROARING CHINESE NEW YEAR 2010...
May this year be better than the last and hopefully I'll be not as pessimistic as last year had made me haha.
Anyway cheers~
Had 2 mouthful of Shandy, one cup of iced-coke & a few New Year cookies....my God...I had noticeably gained a lot of weight...sigh...

Then again, it's CNY!
Try to control a bit lar...
Nothing much this year. Our celebrations and visiting have really mellowed down since last 2 years. In Ipoh, we had grander celebrations and we have to wake up early on the first day of CNY to go house visiting. But since we moved to KL, we really preferred to stay home. I don't know which one is better actually. I really dislike house visiting when the weather is hot and seriously, the weather these days are not at all what you'd call breezy. I'm worried if I go house visiting under this weather, I'll be baked with sweat and become salty human, literally. But without house-visiting, it really doesn't feel like CNY...Like today, the clock struck 12AM and I almost forgot that we have to wish our parents the traditional GONG XI FA CAI! But then my siblings came out and I recovered from amnesia.

Well, I am still up at 3AM because I don't have to wake up early later...*wink*
And I don't want to sleep after the aplenty food I've consumed. So I decided to fixate some words into my blog and try to watch a movie or something haha. Pathetic how my life is always in front of my laptop, but I just love it! I love the Internet!!

I've posted on Twitpic website some pics of my reunion dinner & pre-CNY activities. Do check them out HERE. And do follow me on Twitter @ TammyC11...would really like to know some extra friends.

Take care

Btw, a lot of people setting off firecrackers & fireworks today....I heard crackling sounds for almost 1 hour before silence greets again. I guess they are really trying to scare the "Nian" monster away.

RANDOMNESS BEYOND RANDOMNESS - I STILL CAN'T STOP GROANING ABOUT THE WEATHER!

This is very random but the weather in Malaysia is killing me.
What do you do when you feel super hot and sweaty? Please don't tell me you go nude because a normal person would actually answer...I'll go for a bath.
Problem is, bathing makes me even sweatier! My God. I dread bathing nowadays because it doesn't make you feel cooler. It has opposite effects. It's days like these that I miss the summer in Liverpool...I mean, I hate to be such a jerk who doesn't love her own country but seriously, with this weather, I just can't help loving some other places. Do forgive me "Tanah airku yang darahku tumpah atas" (the motherland in which my blood are scattered on) but seriously, do something about the weather. How do you expect me to use less air-con (though I try my best) in order to prevent global warming when this is happening already.

OK OK I know...I shall stop complaining and live life.
Chinese New Year is around the corner! Yeah......
No Chinese New Year mood yet but I hope I'll slowly be feeling it. Can't wait for reunion dinner; Dunno why since I guess it won't be that great haha. What else...well excited to start on a new job too.. Can't wait actually because life is getting real dull for me.

Anyway, gonna end this abruptly.
Cheers
Happy Chinese New Year

Ps: Trying to try out doing a video blog...what do you think? Practice my 'speaking' a lil'.. *shrugs*

SUPER RED SUNDAY!

Super quick update on my Sunday.
Woke up early (well, for me, 10AM is definitely early for a Sunday) today for some Chinese New Year preparations. It's been long since I felt the Sunday morning sunlight. Sounds so pathetic but yes...I'm pathetic.

Well if in Christmas, Christians decorate their houses and Christmas trees with lights and all the bling-blings, we basically do the same for Chinese New Year AND we have something extra to work on, which is cleaning up the altar and all our praying (such as the urns and candlesticks) and we also have to bath Buddha idol.

I was in-charged of scrubbing the bronze 'I-don't-exactly-know-what' that has its placed on our altar for ages. It's some sort of mini pot that holds those coil-like joss stick. If your not getting this - nevermind. Visit me during CNY and I'll show ya.

Anyway I've been giving the 'heavy' duty of scrubbing for centuries now...so...needless to say, I'm doing it again this year. It looks easy but well, it's not as easy as it seems (or is it just my problem?) Anyway 2 hours worth of polishing there and woa la~ I'm glad to say that the "I-don't-exactly-know-what' is now with dignity, brightly shining on the altar.

BEFORE I LAY MY HANDS ON IT

AFTER THE SWEET, ANGELIC FAIRY (a.k.a. me ahem) WORKS HER MAGIC ON IT
A Bit Shinier what...

Then we did a bit of deco around the house, sticking cute Chinese New Year stuff around here and there. But it's really nothing compared to the days when we were in Ipoh. Our whole house was practically all-red last time. Now it's plainer than it used to be. Well, a lot of things have changed since then. We're all grown up and we actually lost half of our festive hype.

Here's wishing everyone a Gong Xi Gong Xi
Happy Chinese New Year
(don't forget MY ang paus because that's EXACTLY WHAT CNY IS ALL ABOUT!)
ps: I stuck this on my walls..nice eh...

Okay lar..
Back to watching TV series and a whole lot of other computer related activities.
Super lazy right?

With Lotsa Lurve,
TammyC laughing as my room's tower rail falls just minutes after my mum proudly say she managed to fix it...
ps: Slept like a pig for nap after the whole house-cleaning thing...I am REALLY A PIG!! Don't say it..I know.

ANOTHER DAY OF SHOPPING & MY ADDICTION

Another day of CNY shopping. New clothes, new rock-star shoes...
My feet are sore.
It's one thing to feel great after buying new stuff, but it's another having to carry the shopping bags. I have a love-hate relationship with shopping. But honestly, I'm not a shopper since I don't have $$. Haha. CNY is the only time I get to splurge on new clothes.

This year, I bought a lot of black and grey clothes, unlike previous years in which I spent most the cash on colourful colourful things. Perhaps I'm losing the optimism and vibrancy that colours bring to life. I guess it's the lousy end of 2009 that make me a duller person. But then again, I choose dull colours because I thought it more professional, for my new corporate job. Long story short, I guess I'm breathing a new life again starting March and hopefully I'll learn to cope. Some way somehow, I never really seem to be able to get my dream job but I guess if I look at it positively, life isn't really that bad for me. I should really stop complaining and start living.

I haven't been blogging much because I'm addicted to TV series.
I'm now reminiscing 'Dancing With The Stars Season 8" on Youtube and it really is addictive. See! I'm keeping this short again so that I can go back to my clips. Watched a couple of movies lately but found no time to blog about them haha. Holidays are fun because it keeps you so into something that blogs become redundant haha. I'll update my movie and music blogs soon though. I feel obliged to do it (I don't know why - I'm not even earning from it haha).

Take care people.
Ps: It's friggin' hot these days I can die of overheated-skin-cum-sweat-disease.

With Lotsa Lurve to give,
TammyC, hoping for the best in CNY 2010!
Cheers~
